Cassina celebrates the entry of Carlo Scarpa into the iMaestri collection with a limited edition of 50 pieces of the Doge Laguna table, designed in 1968 by the great Venetian architect to bring the suggestions of the Lagoon into design through a sculptural creation of the highest craftsmanship
The ripples of the Lagoon emerge in the extra-clear glass top that pays homage to the ancient art of glassmaking. The sheet is sandblasted to give opacity to the material and then annealed, generating the distinctive rippled effect. The refinement of the glass is further enhanced by the bevel of the top that thins the outline and gives shape to a transparent crystalline frame
Available in two sizes, Doge Laguna maintains the iconic sculptural steel base that enhances the architectural character of the table
